Open sourcing Symbian is not just about the platform. As we’ve discovered in the process of opening up each package it has profound implications for how we work in the mobile sector. That’s a theme we’ll be returning to over the coming weeks.
The platform has become an entrepreneurial opportunity and a mechanism for innovation. The barriers to any company taking a significant role in the platform and using that in the marketing and product development are now well and truly down. And what makes that so important is Symbian’s position as the market leading operating system.
